Articulation with CCAC for Associate of Science in Electrical Construction Technology
The Community College of Allegheny County has partnered with the IBEW to recognize our apprenticeship for 40 credits toward an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Construction Technology. This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your education beyond apprenticeship and earn a college degree.
The program will only require York Electrical Institute graduates to complete an additional 21-24 general education credits. However, prior military service and/or prior college-level courses could make that even less. A minimum of 15 credits (5 courses) must be taken at CCAC. CCAC offers affordable tuition and 100% online courses to make this process accessible to everyone.
The program has a pathway for current apprentices as well. The flexible courses could be taken during the apprenticeship to allow you to complete your apprenticeship and degree program at the same time.
This program was initially established through IBEW Local 5 and has been expanded across the IBEW. To learn more about this program and opportunity, click here.
