Congratulations to 2017 York Electricians Graduates Nicholas Blakney and Jessica Head.  They both completed the 5-year Inside Wireman Apprenticeship Program and earned the title of Journeyman Wireman.  The program incorporated over 900 hours of classroom training and over 8000 hours of on-the-job training.  Our training partners helped to recognize these graduates through product donations.  Southwire gave each of them a tool bag.  IDEAL Industries gave them each a clamp meter.  And, Lutron gave them each a Caseta Wireless lighting control smart bridge and dimmer starter kit.

Jessica Head earned the Outstanding Graduate Award from Klein Tools for demonstrating the highest level of character and commitment throughout her apprenticeship.  Jess stepped up and volunteered at numerous community events, served on the Apprentice Council, attended several IBEW conferences, represents IBEW local 229 on the Third District Youth Caucus, and is leading our RENEW (Reach out and Engage Next-Generation Electrical Workers) Committee.

We also recognized four apprentices with Academic Excellence Awards.  These apprentices must have had overall grades above a 92% while having no infractions for attendance, late work reports, or other policy violations.  Recipients also received a Limited Edition IDEAL Electricians Champion 3 pc. Tool Set.

Congratulations to Shane Cooley, Branton Van Der Toorn, Patrick Sherman, and Marshall Kennedy.  Keep up the great work guys!
